Human history, much like the way seeds in nature are transferred by wind or air currents to enable rebirth, is filled with examples of people migrating due to war, famine, or other causes, mixing with other humans, reproducing anew, and undergoing transformation. Many philosophers and scientists have claimed that civilization was born and evolved through this very miscegenation, i.e., the synthesis of diverse human experiences. In other words, hybridization allowed human communities to meet, integrate, and combine different traits and abilities, thereby advancing to a more developed stage, that is civilization. After all, the word human, implies a being capable of forming bonds with others of its kind.
However, there is another dimension to this hybridization. In the sacred texts’ accounts of the first human, within symbolic narratives involving the forbidden fruit, the Iblis, the satan, the serpent, Lilith, etc., lies the critical story of another kind of hybridization. In the Qur’an’s creation prologue, contrary to the erroneous interpretations of early exegetes who repeated the mistranslated story from the distorted Torah, Adam did not eat a forbidden fruit, but rather, despite being warned, he interbred with another type of human (a wild, bloodthirsty tribe or lineage), thereby corrupting his own lineage; for this reason, he too was expelled, like that tribe, as an enemy of each other’s. Adam is not the name of a single individual, but the name of a human species; more precisely, the most advanced, reasoning human tribe. Iblis, jinn, and the satan are names of other pre-human or quasi-human tribal species. Modern humans have descended from the first mixture of these lineages.
Knowing that parables told in theological texts like a prologue of creation have actually been repeated throughout history, it is necessary to remember that a similar genealogical confusion and conflict continues today. In other words, the original sin is not a one-time historical event, but an ancient, archetypal issue that applies to every human born since.
What do I mean?
The word şecere (ağaç/tree), as we also use it in Turkish, does not only mean a physical tree but also refers to a family tree or genealogy. And the word ‘taqraba’ in the verse means to approach, to become kin, implying the act of mating as we understand. The verse continues, ‘they became aware of their nakedness and sought clothing.’ (…Ve la takraba hazihişşecerate fe tekunaminez zalimin- but do not approach this tree, or else you will be wrongdoers. (Surah A’raf, 7:19)). The following verses add: ‘Then Satan tempted them in order to expose what was hidden of their nakedness.’ and he said, ‘Your Lord has forbidden this tree to you only to prevent you from becoming angels or immortals…’ Thus he deceived them into disobedience. And when they tasted of the tree, their nakedness became visible to them, and they began covering themselves with leaves. (A’raf 7:21–22).
Iblis and Adam are names of two different human tribes or communities. Iblis—Deubaalus (where deu means God, and ali is exalted/divine son)—Ebaali—Baal—Apollo—Paul—Ali, in all esoteric Aryan theology, is the name of God or God’s first and privileged son. (In esoteric groups, the Ali mentioned here is not revered Imam Ali we know. He is the first holy son of the Father. ‘Jesus Christ is the son of God.’ This belief sees Iblis as God’s initially privileged son, while Adam is viewed as a later-born, almost stepchild, and they envy God’s choice to give the vigerency to Adam. For this reason, he is hostile towards Adam, belittles him, and tries to justify himself by forcing him to make mistakes. Satan—Shith—Seth is the descendant of Iblis. They believe they were created from the first pure energy—fire (nar)—and they look down on Adam, who was created from earth, soil, and clay. Due to their origin from smokeless fire, they are called jinn, which means beings whose nature cannot be fully comprehended by humans. The wife of Iblis/Baal is Alilat. Lilith, who believed haunts postpartum women in Anatolia and is believed to try to kill their children – albız in Caucasian languages, lat in the Qur’an, and is presented as the free woman archetype by modern pagan feminists, is the female devil who is believed to have seduced Adam in Christian theology and is symbolized by a serpent. Baal is the terrifying God of Phoenicia to whom children were sacrificed, and he has a colossal temple in Baalbek, Lebanon. Ironically, today the Baalbek temple is under the control of the Hezbollat, devils of Lebanon. Baal’s symbol is fire, and he appears as Mithra in Iran, Seth–Shith–Satan in Egypt, and Apollo–Abaallo in Greece. Paulus (Paul) also means Abaaslu. The belief that Baal never died, that he reincarnates, ‘changes his shirt’ (form), and returns in avatars, and that he will return at the end times to save his children—this belief lives on as the messiah–mahdi–hidden imam doctrine in many religious communities.
In Iranian demagogy and the esoteric–heretical–rafidhi interpretations of Shia groups, due to the practice of taqiyya (religious hypocrisy), the name Ali is used to actually refer to Baal. So, when pure Muslims say they love revered Imam Ali, that’s not the real issue. Deep sages who know this secret simply laugh at such statements…
In short, these concepts do not point to abstract entities, but to real, tangible ‘humans’ and the deviant traits and inclinations found in those humans.
Thus, the story of the ‘forbidden fruit’, which is interpreted as the cause of Adam’s expulsion from paradise, is not about a distant, abstract, one-time event, but about an ongoing deviation. According to the story in the text, due to a plan made out of jealousy by humanoids (Satan, Iblis), through inebriation, seduction, and provocation, Adam (his tribe) was involved in a mass sexual ritual and as a result, the advanced ‘human’ lineage (şecere) became mixed with these other species. In a similar narrative, during the spring festival (Nowruz?) in Sumer, the ritual mating of Inanna and Tammuz to recreate nature served as a prologue and this ritual later continued as a secret ceremony in many heretical religious groups, communities, or secret orders from the East to the West, with perverted traditions like orgy being used as its symbols. Even today, it is still frequently on the agenda as the entertainment of the perverted rich and the lower classes who emulate them around the world.
Adam is not a first human being – there is no such thing as a first human being, the human species has already existed collectively and for a very long time like other living beings – Adam is the name of a tribe of people among these people, a tribe of people who have established homes and hearths and settled down, fed themselves using fire, became families, that is, raised their children under parental control, and had the mental faculties to domesticate seeds, animals and nature, and the ability to establish dialogue by speaking. The other humanoids that have not reached this stage are half-animal, bloodthirsty, cunning but mindless, that is, subhumans-prehumans, and the Iblis-satan-oppressors-jinn species. These are not abstract concepts but real beings. Here, although the tribe of Adam was warned not to mix with another human species – bloodthirsty, oppressive prehumans, that is, the lineage of the Iblis-devils, oppressors and jinn, to save his offspring, the lineage of this advanced tribe of Adam was mixed after the mass sexual ceremony held during the spring festival, which the evil-oppressive tribes cunningly and jealously deceived and probably enchanted and invited with an intoxicating substance. The mass sex ritual held during the spring festival known as Nevruz in Sumerians, when Inanna and Tammuz unite and recreate nature, later continued as a secret ritual of many perverted religious groups or communities, and traditions such as candle extinguished (mumsöndü) were also implemented as symbols of this ritual.
The good and bad, evil and divine, intelligent and stupid, well-mannered and immoral species that we call humanity that has existed until today, emerged and spread as a result of this perversion. This story appears in various forms in different religious texts and cultures around the world and is likely not just an allegory but a symbolic retelling of a real event. When we look at people and history, we see species that are indeed human-shaped but very different, and beyond the differences in color, language, culture, etc., we see that there is a deeper fundamental difference between them, namely, two main types; one with more animalistic traits and another more refined and disciplined. What we usually simplify as good people and bad people actually reflects two different human types, but this also points to miscegenation. Because all good and bad characteristics can be revealed in the same person at different ages, and people with both good and bad aspects can come from the same family. This is because genetically, different species have intermingled. In this sense, people realize and recognize themselves in life, make their choices, and determine their lifestyle, meaning of life, and beliefs with these choices. Or they may live passively, shaped by the environment, family, society, and dominant global culture into which they are born. They make choices in line with what is dominant, what is fashionable, what has been taught. They do not question, do not use their willpower, and surrenders their mind and perception to the conditions they were born into.
In this context, it is possible to say that the Qur’anic terms Iblis-satan-jinn, and oppressors correspond to the classifications found in anthropology such as Homo erectus, Cro-Magnon, Neanderthal, and Homo sapiens representing both pre-human and advanced human species.
These theories, which evolutionist theories interpret on a more biological-physiological level, can be considered, in the context of the classifications in the Qur’an, as an evolution on a spiritual level, but it is not something that has already happened, it is still happening and will continue to happen until the domesday, in other words, it is an evolution that every child that is born will experience.
In the Quran’s creation narrative, the angels’ objection, that is, ‘Will you create a being that will shed blood and cause mischief?’, has been interpreted by many scholars as meaning that a human-humanoid species already existed before Adam was created. In fact, this narrative continues with the moment of sin we mentioned above, a conflict that really drew the wrath of Allah, and afterwards, it was said, ‘Go away from here as enemies to each other’, and then Adam was tested in his worldly life and forgiven on the condition that he would purify himself and return.
If we take into account the details here such as the Iblis who did not sujood to Adam, the devil who deceived him in the name of eternal life, and the oppressors that they later turned into, and if the use of these concepts in other contexts are being taken into account, it can be said that there is actually a rebellious, stubborn, deceitful, lying, wicked and insidious species, the devil, and a blood-shedding, barbaric, and a corrupting oppressor species. The verses in which Iblis says, I am created from smokeless fire, and another stating like the devil was one of the jinn, when considered together with the etymology of the word jinn that meaning the hidden, unknown, or foreign, suggests that these beings may have been formed from a refined substance such as smokeless fire, possibly an early form of energy like natural gas, which we now call energy and something invisible yet still not fully understood in its essence. The creation of Adam from soil also represents the stage of fire dying out and mixing with water and air and becoming soil, that is, a later stage; fire belittles its own extinguished state by asserting its own priority and privilege of being the first cause, and this arrogance provokes God’s wrath.
To make this narrative more concrete, it is like two different tribes; one is the Iblis-satans living on the Caspian-Azer shores (where smokeless fire was intense, with Azer meaning fire) and other is the Adams living on the marshy, muddy shores of the Persian Gulf, and when God endowed Adams with intellect, conscience, and ability, imposing responsibility upon them, the Iblis and his tribe grew envious, claimed priority and superiority, and when this was rejected, they slandered Adam, likened them to oppressive tribes, then set a trap to prove their claim by intoxicating them with drugs and alcohol during the grand spring festival where everyone gathered, enabling mass genetic hybridization. God expelled them both, gave time to Iblis and a chance for Adam to be purified by going through tests, and this hybrid species called human began his worldly life as a necessary laboratory for the creative transformation of the nature. God creates through causes, and the human species is one of these creative causes, indeed, the most important of them. Therefore, in imitation of nature’s own creative cycle, he changes the world with his mind and other abilities, and creates new works that do not exist in nature by solving the laws of nature. In this life process that will last until a certain hour – the domesday; extremely dynamic, variable, new works are produced in relationships with nature itself, the sun-moon-stars-skies, seas and submarines, mines, thousands of different plants and animals, and all other human species. In this process, what has not been done is done, what has not been thought is thought, the old is eliminated, the new emerges, a continuous process of creation continues in contradictions-conflicts-wars-pains alongside love, affection, mercy and sorrow. God is at work at every moment and everything happens according to his laws.
Worldly life is a cycle of existence that is limited by time and space, bound by the laws of nature, and characterized by chaos and order, creation and corruption, birth and death and it is, in a sense, a kind of Truman Show or metaverse universe. The human being that endowed with abilities that no other creature possesses such as understanding, analyzing, transforming, and making choices about the universe they are born into, is nature’s most advanced and responsible being. However, due to the confusion in his genes, perhaps due to need for a suitable mood of hybridization consonant with laws of nature that are constantly changing with contradiction and conflict, that is, thanks to his contradictory characteristics such as good and bad, right and wrong, mercy and cruelty, intelligence and stupidity, he has acquired even more contradictory characteristics so that he can be more creative. With this characteristic, the human species is both a creative cause that ensures the transformation and renewal of nature, and the Adam species, as the owner of a transcendent attribute that surpasses nature, is forced to purify itself from the deficient-excessive-wrong characteristics in its genes in order to learn to create its own existence with its own choices, as itself and for itself, in addition to being the subject of this creation.
In the creation narrative of the Qur’an, God’s response to the angels, God knows what you do not know, might relate to this very reality. Adam is being prepared for a more important existence beyond, and for this he is subjected to a natural education and selection, because he is asked to acquire the ability to exist by purifying and educating himself as himself. If God wanted, He would create and equip as He wanted, but just like the fact that children who have everything from birth never grow up, develop, become adults, and have no talent or personality, but individuals who are deprived work with their own efforts, labor and talents and earn it, know its value, and therefore become individuals with more character, personality and responsibility, God’s setting up such a game is like giving people the opportunity to evolve into a free and personality-oriented species and enabling them to build their own existence… In this sense, becoming Adam is not something that has been and is over; it is a process that still exists, continues to exist, and is valid for each person individually, and continues in the form of formation and decline even during the periods of each individual’s own life. And the human species, all of humanity, all races, all tribes, religious communities, sects, and the historical residue of identities, are by no means inherently chosen or purified like Adam. On the contrary, the essence of Adam, as well as that of Iblis, Satan, the oppressor, and the jinn, exist equally and indistinguishably in each of us and in this regard, all existing identities are equally subject to the same test.
This spiritual evolution within human nature can also operate in reverse. In other words, an individual with a dominant Adamic essence may, under different circumstances later in life, regress due to the resurgence of a satanic gene. Conversely, someone in whom the satanic or oppressive gene is dominant may, through their own choices or under changing conditions, can choose their inner Adamic nature and ascend. In this sense, the tradition of the Prophet and the Messenger that has existed throughout history, philosophers, wise men, saints, and spiritual masters preaching, advising, guiding, educating, reminding, and representing the truth about this essence of Adam, and the purification and protection of many communities from corrupt social environments through initiation or ascetic techniques are all ways of these free choices. Likewise, all the idealistic causes, fights, struggles against evil and actions aimed at the dominance of goodness carried out for the sake of truth and justice, in the name of rebelling against oppressors, are indicators of this initiation, that is, the purification effort (Taqwa in the Qur’an) for the effort to become Adam on the path of truth. In this regard, the eternal struggle between good and evil, right and wrong, truth and falsehood, beauty and ugliness, justice and oppression is always a fundamental conflict. Again, the unchosen identities determined by history and society – religion, sect, race, social class, color, language, tribe, clan, gender – have no importance, none of them have any value in this war for humanity. The only thing that truly matters is the awareness of becoming Adam, and the ancient values that define this essence, which enable the completion of human spiritual evolution. It is the Adamic gene that created civilization, tamed and ademized semi-animal humanoids, carried this mature human gene to all parts of the world, ensuring the evolution of all barbaric species into humans, and taught love, affection, compassion, being a parent, considerateness, using one’s mind, avoiding evil, doing good, sharing, solidarity, equality, freedom, rebellion, resistance, writing poetry, music, architecture and cleanliness to every human-looking creature. Those who have the Iblis-satan-jinn gene are like monkeys, they imitate humans, steal what humans produce, try to dominate humans, and try every way to lead humans astray. Iblis is a jealous ape who turned Adam’s honey into poison in his own mouth. Human-like beings who lack or have a weak Adamic gene display no true humanity in their face, behavior, or actions. That’s why the ancestors used to say to such people; You’re not a real man, become Adam!
All religious advices, philosophical teachings, moral principles are for this hybrid species, human, to be purified from his original sin both in terms of lineage, character and lifestyle, to become pure, to attain his original essence – to become Adam, and for every child born to continue the lineage of Adam without being involved in evil lineage. Because, Human is a hybrid species of Adam-Devil, and every child that exists and will be born is born with these mixed-hybrid genes. The meaning of life, for those who wish to become Adam, lies in choosing to weaken the Iblis gene through conscious decisions. Those who do not make this choice are not truly Adam but they are humanoid creatures in human form. This deep-rooted war lies at the root of the endless hatred and jealousy of the demonic race towards the descendants of Adam.
A creative, productive, questioning mind; a deep sense of curiosity; an active commitment to goodness; a courageous hostility toward evil; an inner sense of shame and self-respect-based discipline, all these qualities constitute the authentic morality and virtue that define the essence of Adam. Every human being, every community, every group who has made these features their personality and support their personalities with their habits (Turkish, Kurdish, Arab, British, Mozambican, Chinese, Peruvian, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Alawite, Sunni, Druze, Yazidi, Armenian, Russian, Polish, Imazighens, female, male, rich, poor, etc… whatever it is called), freed of these fake identities that are product of the history, and they have become Adam, they are now a more developed Adam community, different from the majority of the humanoids’ community. However, even among them, there are always those who may regress or lose this privilege. Therefore, becoming Adam is a lifelong endeavor that never ends until death.
History is full of wars between the descendants of Adam and Iblis who fought with this consciousness. Furthermore, the wars instigated by Iblis, the devil and oppressors are actually the product of human hostility. The measure is clear; every idea, belief, thought, project, system, any individual, group, organization, party, state that produces tools and ideas aimed at killing people, establishes systems aimed at dominating and abusing people, encourages all perversions that will purify people from Adamic characteristics, deceives people by using the superior characteristics stolen from Adam by imitating Adam for their own evil intentions, always directs people to waste their energy, encourages habits such as alcohol, drugs, and gambling that dull the mind, and encourages sexuality outside of marriage, that is, without having children – because Adam is the one who has children of known lineage through marriage – is indisputably from the lineage of the Iblis.
Those who are rational, have a conscience, try to live by rules and laws – nomos -, know themselves and their Lord, establish intimacy with others, share, and are in solidarity (zakat-salat), are sensitive to cruelty and evil, are merciful to the oppressed and deprived, live in a home-hearth-family centered way, try to make a living with their labor and talent, have trust in God, and those who have gratitude, patience, piety, are free-thinking and have dignity are all personalities whose Adamic essence is dominant. The guarantee of this discipline lies in continuous self-control, both within one’s inner world and through friendships, communal bonds, and spiritual networks. Because the satans and oppressors, driven by their hatred and envy of Adam, are more aggressive and more active. Since Adam cannot be as evil or cruel as they are, he must be on the alert at all times. This is achieved through continuous, regular, sincere worship, active actions, and especially the struggle for political and cultural power. Adam only chooses seclusion, migration or retreat when he cannot cope with the offspring of Iblis. Except this regress, for Adam living is a difficult, patience requiring and self-sacrificing act.
It is because the Torah was recorded as distorted and corrupted text by the Devil’s progeny, and because ignorant people multiplied it and spread it later, the first exegetes generation of the Holy Qur’an, like the authors of the Bible, continue to make people memorize, in the name of religion and as religion, such nonsense as the first man being Adam, his wife Eve being created from Adam’s rib, and all of humanity being descended from the incestuous relationship between the children of Eve and Adam. These horrifying and ignorant fabrications from the Torah are an insult to God and to Adam, who was created as the most honored of beings (Eşref-i Mahlukat).
The Jews, who diluted and recorded the most ancient narrative about the beginning or the meaning of life, which is the most basic curiosity of humanity, as if they were mocking it, were actually brought to the region from India in the 4th century BC and they half-recorded everything they heard in Babylon and Phoenicia and presented it as intelligence reports to the Persian kings who brought them as colonizers, and these intelligence reports they first distorted and wrote down as the Torah, and later called the Tanakh. In the Gospel, Jesus says to the Jewish dignitaries, ‘You are from of your father the Iblis’ (John 8:31–59). Because the slander of the lineage of Iblis about Adam, just as slander about the Mary and Jesus and distorted the stories of Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, and Solomon (peace be upon all of them), spreaded by the Jews as if these distortions were divine words.
The Qur’an organizes this distorted Jewish narrative and tells it in the form of stories that are true to the original. And of course, its concern is not about teaching the history, but rather as an advice aimed at revealing, reminding and showing the direction of the Adamic essence within people.
The most important lesson we can learn from the Qur’an’s narrative for this purpose is this; this war will continue until the undeveloped barbaric, evil and mindless creatures called Iblis-satan-oppressor and jinn, who oppose even the willpower of Allah with arrogance and jealousy, who make the tribe of Adam like himself with lies and deceit and drive them away, but who ultimately start another plan of Allah, who start that struggle of dignity that will educate and equip Adam as the honorable creature, provide a difficult, painful but meaningful worldly life and the eternal friendship of Allah at the end, sujood to Adam.
To make Iblis sujood to Adam is the only meaningful reason for existence in this world. The struggle to uphold justice and goodness is precisely this.
Of course, this study is an attempt at understanding and interpretation in my limits. God alone knows the truth.
